A STRUCTURED WAY TO EXPLORE OUR MINDS’ COMPLEXITIES
I conduct psychoanalytic psychotherapy with adults, couples, and adolescents facing a range of emotional and psychological challenges, and also provide parent counselling, assisting parents to understand the dynamics within their family relationships.
What is psychoanalytic psychotherapy
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is a therapeutic process that explores how unconscious thoughts and past experiences shape current emotions and behaviour. Through regular sessions, patients engage in reflection and free association to uncover inner conflicts, repetitive patterns, and repressed memories.
This form of therapy builds a strong therapeutic alliance, creating a safe and non-judgmental space to address complex issues such as anxiety, depression, emotional disconnection, and relationship difficulties. The process promotes self-awareness, helps resolve internal struggles, and aims to foster lasting emotional growth.
What to expect
The first 2–3 sessions involve understanding the individual’s history, struggles, and goals, and confirm a mutual fit between us.
A commitment to regular sessions (at least once a week or more) is established.
Sessions encourage honesty, openness, and free expression without censorship.
The therapy is non-directive, focusing on gaining an understanding of the meaning of symptoms rather than through instruction or guidance.
Why consider psychotherapy
Psychotherapy offers a structured space to explore the complexities of the mind and an opportunity to make sense of thoughts, emotions, and behaviours that can otherwise feel confusing or overwhelming. It helps uncover how past experiences influence present difficulties, and empowers individuals to move beyond unhelpful patterns, fostering emotional growth, resilience, and lasting change.
